Matthew wasn't surprised America stayed so confident and optimistic, even during such a tense time, with empires building and stronger countries taking over weak ones. America was a huge world power. He wouldn't have to worry. Canada on the other hand, was trembling at each move the stronger countries made. He after all, wasn't one of the strongest countries that were rebuilding and building empires.
"Oh Al.." he was jealous for a second. He wished he didn't have to lock his doors, like he used to. But that was alright. Alfred was here so... Matthew leaned on his shoulder, pouting a little. "Fine, but you have to carry me, since we're allies now, and I'm wounded with lack of sleep."
He didn't move away from his position, because he knew well Alfred could pick him up as if he was a doll.

America appeared to have the shape of a clueless teenager, but truthfully he was a strong nation and he was confident he could take over –almost- any country, if he wanted to. After all, he managed to gain Independence and whatnot.
For a second, Alfred leaned his head against Matthew’s, just enjoying the fact that this turned out so well. With a soft, content sigh he rose up in an instant, his hand wrapping around the other’s back, scooping him up and over his shoulder. “Off we go!” He cheered, starting to run back towards his house, planning on fixing the door along with that.

Matthew let out a small squeak when he was picked up, and clung to Alfred's clothes as tightly as he could, in case he was dropped. But he wasn't. They got back to the broken-doored house in no time, and Matthew was safely put down. Moments like these made him dizzy. and Alfred just had to smile that stupid smile of his.
"A-Alright, video games." at least it would get his mind off a few of things. He stumble to his TV, looking through a few games they could play, but at the end, turned to Alfred. "What do you want to play?"

America didn’t seem to be aware that by how he fast he was moving affected his little brother. He thought he’d get used by now. So, placing him down he ran towards the door, trying to fix it. “Damn it, Mattie, your door is a big meanie.” He whined childishly, before slamming the door back in its place.
He turned around, facing him as he threw his arms in the air, excited at the sight of the TV and then paused for a second at his question. “Anything! I’m going to beat ya anyway.” He said, waving a hand in the air.

"you broke it!" Matthew reminded him lightly, knowing it wouldn't really help America understand. He picked up a game they were both quite good at, and inserted it in, before grabbing a game remote. "Alright, come here."
He sat on the couch, waiting for his brother to join him for the game. He clicked through the starting screen, knowing the games they liked to play best. "Are we betting anything? Me making dinner, you cleaning the house?"
