What a beautiful day. It wasn't too cold outside, in fact for Russia it was the perfect day outside. It wasn't snowing and the sun brightly shined over head. Today though he wasn't here for a little fun trip out of his home country. He was actually here looking for Lithuania.
An innocent smile was perched on Ivan's face. His eyes didn't show this innocence though, more like a slightly crazed look. To add to the creepy feeling he gave, he was also very tall. The country gazed up at the sky starting to feel a tad warm from his scarf and thick uniform. However he wouldn't take it off unless absolutely necessary.
After a while of walking and enjoying the sceenery Russia began to think about what he had come for. It was oh so obvious as to what business he had to tend too. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Finally, he was here. Lithuania's house! He made his way up the porch and knocked on the door keeping that innocent look plastered on his face. 'Lithuania will be very surprised to see Russia here~'
He thought to himself. He was quite excited he chose such a nice day to come tend to his business. After a moment Russia knocked again getting a little annoyed since nobody was answering the door yet. However the large country was in a good mood so he wasn't ready to open the door himself quite yet. [fail, post is fail] [/blockquote]

It had been a rather relaxing day, actually. Even by the standards of the always-anxious Lithuania, things seemed smooth... Well, smooth compared to previous days. Of course there was hints of growing tensions around him, news of countries claiming countries, and so on and so forth. It had given him a few stomachaches and a migraine here and there, but for the most part, he'd heard nothing bad from either him nor any baltic or eastern European nations. Sure, there was always Russia that would probably hold anyone else at bay, but not even he had shown up yet. Yes, things seemed quite smooth indeed.
So much so, in fact, that the brunette had taken it upon himself to relax for an evening, and force off the usual emotional weight upon him. Some tea, perhaps, along with a good movie and an early night's sleep... Times like those always felt nice. He'd considered inviting over Estonia or maybe Poland, but decided against it. Tonight would be a night for himself.
Foolish, really, to think it would last.
Knowing Lithuania, it was surprising he'd even let himself fall into such a relaxed, unbothered condition, even if it was only for an evening. It wasn't quite yet close to the start of said evening, but that hadn't seemed to matter. Already the baltic was preparing for it. Of course, it meant getting everything else out of the way first: for example, the laundry might as well be in the wash while he sat around. And that was where he was when the first knock echoed, a bit to far from the door, shuffling around, to properly hear it. He'd also found some clean clothes ready to be folded, so he decided he might as well do that, too. Then the second knock reverberated, and that was the first time he heard it; it must have been the busy mind focused on laundry that had kept him from guessing who might be at the door. It was also probably why he, once shuffling rather hastily to the door [because it wasn't polite to keep people waiting], he was surprised by who was there.
And lets just say the paling of his cheeks was quite noticeable once he caught a glimpse of the man standing on his doorstep. "R-Russia!" He stammered, practically dropping the basket tucked under one arm as he fought to maintain a grip on it. "U-Uh, come right in!" Lithuania stepped aside, opening the door farther to grant Russia access. He wasn't that foolish that he didn't have an idea as to why the larger -- and intimidating, did he mention that? -- nation was there. "What brings you here?" [/blockquote]

So far Russia wasn't placed in the position where he'd have to force anything right now. Lithuania had just invited him in and that made Russia happy. He actually missed the baltics. After everyone left Russia actually got lonely. Well not anymore because he planned on changing that. Russia walked in as soon as Lithuania invited him in.
Russia wouldn't get down streight to buisness. First he would want to visit. "Russia came to see Lithuania, da?"
He had that same innocent smile on his face. "Lithuania must have missed Russia." he said walking over to a chair and sitting down. He wasn't so afraid to make himself feel right at home. The Russian wouldn't admit how much he has missed the other county. Russia gazed around the room examining everything around him. It was a really nice house. Nice and clean too. "How has Lithuania been?" he asked finally resting his gaze on him. It was obvious that Russia had something planned. But then again he hasn't seen Lithuania in a while. So perhaps not. But Lithuania knew Russia, so maybe he suspected something already. The large country didn't think of that though. Instead he sat in silence waiting for Lithuania to answer. [/blockquote]

So much for that previously-planned 'relaxing evening' of his -- it appeared that nothing of the sort would be happening anymore, even if Russia came and went with nothing in between. The guy's presence and the wake if it was enough to make Lithuania anxious again. Still, though, he was still well-acquainted with the feeling despite being on his own for a few years. So he could deal if he had, to, he supposed. The visit couldn't last forever.
So, the baltic decided to make the most of the tense situation -- from his end, at least, Russia seemed quite pleased to be there -- and closed the door after the larger entered his abode. So obviously he wasn't going to be outright as to the reasons for his coming over. But Lithuania knew better; Russia never did anything if he didn't have a reason too, there was too much cunning behind that innocent-looking exterior of his. Hopefully, though, it just wasn't about... What his gut was telling him. About countries taking over countries. He'd been trying to stay out of it for a reason, after all. Freedom was something he was still cherishing quite a bit and he didn't want to relinquish it yet if he could help it.
Following Russia over to the chair upon which he sat, Lithuania debated on whether or not to reply to the second thing said. Missed Russia? No, he couldn't say he really did... Perhaps at first it'd been strange, living alone and not having to tend to others, but he'd grown used to it again. But he wisely decided better of saying anything of the sort. He wasn't going to slip up here if he could help it. The brunette quickly set down the laundry basket down out of the way before going over beside his guest, who was looking around as if rather impressed by the tidy look of his surroundings. It wasn't long before he seemed to go back to his former charge, however, and gave that trademark smile of his.
How had he been? Just great! Things are much nicer without having to keep on my toes every single day. "Oh, uh.. I've been fine. It's been nice having some time to myself lately." Only then did he realize that perhaps Russia might find an underlying meaning to the second part, but maybe that was just him worrying too much again. Old habits sure were returning fast. Regardless, Lithuania managed a slight smile. "W-Would you like soma tea?" Something warm and relaxing sounded good right about now, and it'd give him a reason to keep himself busy. [/blockquote]

Russia searched Lithuania's face for a moment keeping that smile on his face. He hadn't replied to his question so Russia waited for that reply. Only did he realize he hadn't replied. 'Well if he did miss Russia, he wouldn't have to miss him anymore~'
That plan was still fresh in Russia's head. He planned on getting the baltics back and expanding his land. He already had a vast amount of land, why not more? Russia couldn't help but favor the baltics. He wasn't sure why, maybe because they were already familiar? They were quite the three when he had them under Russian control. It wouldn't be long before Lithuania was under Russia's control. Russia frowned a little staring at Lithuania for a long moment. Perhaps that was an answer to both of his questions? The Russian narrowed his eyes staring at Lithuania. But it didn't take long for him to put on that same smile again. "Alone time is good sometimes, da? Russia likes being around people though." Russia hated it when everyone had seem to leave him. He felt abandoned, but he wouldn't admit that to Lithuania. He wasn't about to spill his guts to get this country back to living with him. "Tea sounds good, da? Yes, Russia would like some." Russia waited quietly for Lithuania. He could tell it might take a while before he brought out the news that he wanted him under his control again. Russia wouldn't have to do much to be succesful with his little project. He was confident that he wouldn't at least. But you never know what some country's had up there sleeve. But the Russian didn't expect anything out of the ordinary on this visit. [/blockquote]

Lithuania shifted slightly as he felt himself shrink a little under Russia's searching look. He made himself look like a good host, however -- patient as can be as he waited for his answer, his excuse to keep moving and busy himself to perhaps fend off the full force of the newly-returned stress. Of course, patience had always come rather easy to him [growing up dealing with Poland, it was something of a necessity]. Dealing well with anxiety, however, had not. What was it about the Russian that could do so much to him mentally just by standing in the same room? There wasn't much time to really ponder it before Russia spoke, his soft -- childish, it had always been like that -- voice carrying across the quiet room. For a moment though, Lithuania could've sworn he saw something unfamiliar cross the other's face. But then he accepted the offer of tea, and it was time to move again.
"O-Of course, I'll get right on that." And the Baltic hurried off into the kitchen to start the water boiling. As he got to work, he'd almost forgotten the first thing that Russia had said -- and he would probably have done well with a reply, right? Oops. "There always was a lot of people around your house. B-Back when I was there." The stutter was to represent the reluctance to really go too much into that time, although he supposed he would do it if Russia chose to press the subject.
Rather thoughtfully, though, Lithuania let his work overtake him as he let his ming wander a little. The brunette had always had a way of being, well, perhaps a little more perceptive than were others around him. There had been a change on Russia's face when he'd mentioned being around people, hadn't there? And there always had been quite the assortment of live-ins at the larger man's house: Ukraine and Belarus, Latvia and Estonia, and then of course he himself; plus the others added in during the Cold War. Once they all had gone after their own independence, the spacious house must've seemed... Empty, eerily quiet. Maybe it had gotten to Russia after awhile?
It was lucky that the blond couldn't see Lithuania in the kitchen from where he sat, because the smaller knew that if he was right Russia would never admit such a thing [as well as the fact that sometimes, he seemed capable of reading your mind somehow], and the idea that he might be right made, for some odd reason, and slight pink tint enter his cheeks. Of course, maybe it was just the heat of the water hitting his face. That had to be the reason, didn't it? [/blockquote]
