The Netherlands started walking up the path to Japan's house He was determined, and to be perfectly honest he wasn't going to go out of this visit empty handed. The thunder crashed as the downpour continued outside, whatever, all it did was make things a little more dramatic. You see, he was making sure that the Asian nation was going to be Dutch territory. Kiku would see things his way, he was pretty smart. Even if he didn't, force was always a second option, an option that the taller nation certainly was prepared to use. Force is completely necessary if you wanted to conquer the world, and that was the very goal that he was set after. This was only the first step, an important one if he wanted to see his ambitions realized.
He hissed, this rain wouldn't stop coming down, would it? At least Japan's garden was nice. The floral patterns and the obvious care that was put into it was burned into the taller nation's mind. Even if this one of the most material things to judge someone on, he was sure that Kiku would be an amazing ally. Of course, he had sought out other good qualities first. The other was hard wirking, and a formidable ally, if memory served. Maybe he was a little on the weird side, and had some weird hobbies on the side, but the positive traits outweighed all of the negative ones, right?
Finally, he made it to the door. Giving a couple of knocks, he put his hands in his pockets. Just waiting, his heart beating quickly. This was the important step, he just had to make sure that everything went perfectly. Maybe he could trick him, just wanting a simple cup of tea and to discuss some trade. Maybe he could go in and outline his thoughts first thing. It was a tough decision, but he was pretty sure that he made the right one in the end. Now all he had to do was wait for the other to answer, and to get out of the damn rain.
(Terrible post ;o;)

Japan loved to watch the rain fall, admiring the way that it seemed to bend the light to it's will and how nothing was spared in it's wake. Everything got wet and there wasn't a thing you could do about it. He sighed contently, breathing in the scent of the cup of tea in his hands when he was startled by the knocks on the door.
He wasn't expecting anybody at this time, and who would travel in the rain for him? With a small groan of discomfort of moving his still bones, he half walked-half ran to the door, hoping to still catch the person knocking. He opened the door and bowed slightly at the visitor. "Hello Netherlands-san." he said quietly, hiding his shock. Wasn't he supposed to be in Europe?

“Hello, Japan.” Not bothering to ask, he walked into the other's house, quickly undoing his boots. They were muddy from the trek up, and even if his entire reason of being here was conquest, even he had certain limits. He made his way over to the living room, he had been here many times before, and knew the basic layout of the house. Questions would be answered eventually, but for now it would just be good to sit down, and maybe dry his hair a little. So he took his seat, on the floor, in the room. There was a tea set off to the side, so he poured himself a glass.
“As you may know certain countries are getting ready for war.” He sipped the glass ever so casually, his eyes darting around the room. “It's an issue that's bothering me, because it's so close to home.” He couldn't exactly single a country out, but maybe that gave the other enough of a hint to see where he was coming from. He had been monitoring Germany's actions for awhile now and it was unsettling, and just in the way of his goal.
“So I came with an offer. Align with me, become Dutch territory, and I'll offer protection from the menaces that will be after you soon.” He smirked, of course they would be after Japan. If he got to him first though, what could they do? “Besides, if you do accept, you'll be with the soon to be most powerful empire in the world.” Yeah, that had to sound tempting enough, right?

Japan had no time to gasp before Netherlands barged into his house without asking. Really?! Had these Europeans no shame, no respect for their elders?! How rude! He said none of this out loud however, instead closing the door behind his new guest and readjusting his face to be calm again.
He kneeled in front of his guest, annoyance on his face as he petted Pochi beside him. He listened to him talk, blinking as the thoughts rolled about in his head. He waited until he had sipped his own cup of tea before talking.
"I realize that much of Europe is at War again Netherlands-san. I am not holed up in my house so much that I know nothing of the world." He looked down at the tea in his hands, steeling himself for the answer.
"But I'm afraid that my answer will be 'no'. I remember the last time I was caught up in your European Wars. And I remember when I dreamed of being an Empire..." He touched a small, black spot on his waist, hidden beneath the folds of his clothes and he remembered the pain of that spot, the pain of other little scars that would never fade.
"I fear that you are reaching too high Netherlands-san. This world isn't meant for empires..."

“This world is completely suitable for empires.” He grinned, leaning back just a tiny little bit. Of course, there was going to be resistance. Resistance was natural, but maybe this wasn't the time to fight. Japan... would soon learn to regret his decision. It would be by his own hand, or by the hand of one of the more forceful empires.
“In fact, I don't see why owning colonies became frowned upon at all.” He sighed, getting up from the floor and dusting off his knees. It wasn't as necessary as he thought, gaining Japan this early. Sure, it would've been nice, but some things just needed time. If he was showing hostility this early, the rest of the world would be onto his plot too early. It was all too carefully planned, to have it foiled this early.
“Although, I was rash in my thinking.” He darted is eyes off to the side, trying to let the lie fade into the background. “I was too focused on getting an ally, since the Germans are probably planning an invasion of my country anytime now. They're already planning for Belgium, it's only a matter of time until they try and attack me.” In fact, he was wondering why they hadn't attacked him sooner. He was probably the biggest threat that they could have.
“You have to realize though, that everyone is going to be coming after you soon. Considering your... past history, and you're smart enough to understand why people would want you as an ally.” He walked a little closer, dropping his voice a tone. “I could give you an idea of who will be coming next though.” At least, if his intelligence gathering was right, he had a good enough idea of the next nation that would be coming for Japan.

Japan refilled his cup before nodding. "I know your situation. Try looking for your neighbors. There are several people in Europe who would do more then help you fight off Germany-san." He glanced at Pochi before looking up at his guest directly. He wasn't fazed by how close Netherlands strangely enough, maybe it was his past self coming back?
With a small shiver, he looked away. "And who would come for me Netherlands-san?" he asked. "England wouldn't want to come back to me and China wouldn't either because of what I've done. America is too busy as well."

“Well, if asking my neighbours was that easy, I would've done it by now.” Whatever, it would be easier to just drop the subject by now. Although his neighbours could be helpful, a lot of them were actually preparing for the oncoming war. At least, he could name at least five of the countries near him. Spain, France, he could go on. Especially Germany, just to say one. He started reflecting on his position, looking outside to the rain, which was still pouring down with the same intensity. Right, he was currently visiting someone. Where were his manners?
“You'd be quite surprised who would be coming for you.” He grinned, taking his seat back on the ground. “I know of a certain few countries that have had their eyes on you, and I'd say that your line of thinking is wrong.” There was no way he was going to outright tell Japan that England was going to come. He refused the offer, and the taller nation was nice to an extent. Maybe give him a little guessing game?
“Or, who knows. Maybe a country like Spain will come and seize you?” That was funny. “I should get going. Thanks for the visit.” Yeah, leaving and letting the other reflect was probably the best thing to do.

He said nothing as Holland talked about how other countries would come for him. Nothing as his drunk his tea for the last time and stood up. "Very well Netherlands-san. I shall think about your offer and put it up against all the 'few countries that have an eye on me'. I hope that your offer stands out among them." he said this colder then his usual tone, for once, not worried about being thought of wrongly, or anything. He just wanted this man out of his house.
"You were nice when we first met. I'll keep that in mind when I think. You know where the door is." he turned to the garden, listening to the rain like he attempted to do before.
